There will be many more biographies written of Gore, but none will come from someone who was so close to him as Fabian. He is modest enough to take us on his journey as the great man’s apt pupil as well as his devoted assistant. It is a journey you are bound to enjoy and from which you are bound to learn.

When I returned from my first command tour deployment, Fabi was there. He was quite literally the best person (if not only person) capable of holding space for me and listening as I began to decompress and assess a long deployment.

A former navy officer himself, Fabi understands the 'no excuse' environment of the military and the challenges of operational leadership. He has a way of letting me vent where I can actually feel complete letting go of frustrations, then turn my focus back to the important issues at hand.

When the day comes that I take off the uniform for good, and I begin the rest of my life, I'm happy knowing Fabi will be there to not only soothe my transition, but keep me on my toes and challenge me to even greater service.
